Major Skeete is an experienced, altruistic leader who has dedicated his life, so far, to training young people, whether as a teacher or as a Cadet Corps leader and administrator. He came to the job with an outstanding academic background, as an island scholar, an excellent record as a teacher of modern languages and an equally successful career as leader of the Combermere Cadet Company (1980-1984).
He would have touched the lives of generations of Barbadians. His caring nature embraced the Corps/Forces of the wider Caribbean and he also forged links with extra-regional cadet units in Canada and the United Kingdom.
For his outstanding service to Cadet Forces in the Caribbean, he was awarded the Dominica Cadet Corps Revival Medal, the Cayman Islands Tenth Anniversary award and the Caribbean Cadet Medal. His service was truly “Duty Beyond the Desk”.
